My shift knob came misaligned, meaning the shift gate pattern is not facing the right way, about 90 degress off. I tried tighten it another quarter turn but no success. I plan to take it to the dealership when spring comes around. Just wondering how would they correct this problem - find a 300 lb. technician to turn?

Loosen the knob and get it into the position you want, then tighten the nut below the knob up tight against the knob. That will lock it into place in the right position.

Just to clarify what Rick said...

Take a wrench or adjustable to the nut below the shift knob and turn it clockwise, about 1/2 turn, until the shift knob is free to rotate.

Line up the knob, hold it firmly in position, and then turn the wrench counterclockwise to tighten the nut again.

Sorry Rick...my technical writing background coming through again!
