Miscellaneous musings again
a) Had to buy new rears for the MY03 this month. I put on Toyos in the back because I need stability in the rain, it's a daily driver, and I take my daughter to school in it every day. I'm sacrificing some handling and very high speed stability but not much. It's a great combination. The lateral aceeleration and steeering is quicker than the S02's. I have the rears at 36psi instead of 32. the Fronts stay at 32. I'll keep you posted on tread life.
b) The few other s2000's I see seem unwashedand not as polished as the norrmal Civic/ Accord. What's up? I hope it's just my experience and not becoming a normal occurence i this area.
c) I 'm going to make this post to the Tell it Honda section as well. Honda should not change the basic lines of this car period. Slight cosmetic changes on the front and rear tailghts I can see. Nothing else. I say this because I have had more envious looks, stares and compliments from strangers, friends andBMWZ3/4? owners in particular. Everybody wants to know the price and many are shocked it's a Honda. I parked it on the street the other day and a Z3 owner parked right behind me. He stared at the car a good 30 seconds before he went in to the store. I have had similar reactions from other sport car owners as well. I'm feeling paranoid but happy at the same time. Other roadsters start to look dated but this design is just a classic, clean look-not overdone. I hope Honda can sell a few more units a year to keep this car in for a long life. I'm totally impressed. BTW, so far my baby burns no oil at 11,800 miles.
