Default MMM...Aerodynamics...

Check it out. Don't bash the model. If you can create one better, by all means, send it to me.

This is a half-model analysis (symmetric down the middle). The scale is correct and air is flowing past the model at an initial velocity of 120 mph. I am working on a top down version right now.

How about adding a few variations of spoilers too... Looks good.

Yeah...I've got a lot of ideas running through my head at the moment. Slapping on a wing is next on the list after I get the topless analysis done.

The mesh sizes I am using are pure crap right now. The models can be a LOT more refined. In due time...

Coolest thread ever!

I have ZERO clue about how you are modeling this, but I do have a small, somewhat accurate model that you can use for reference.

PaperModel

It took me 2 iterations to get it down, but the end result is a surprisingly accurate paper model of our cars (minus the side mirrors). Total time to make the model was an hour, tops.

I'm guessing seeing the car in front of you will help you in refining the model. Just a thought.

What program are you using? Ansys? Or something that does fluids better?

Very cool, BTW!

I see those red areas just in front of each tire. I wonder if Honda has already done this and that's why they put those under strakes in from the factory.

That's pretty cool. Definitely try it with the lip spoiler as well.

Same as before...but this time topless. Note the recirculation behind the rear and in the cabin.

Next up: Rear wing.
