On a related subject, not to go too far off topic here. I am a fan of Valvoline's Max Life conventional oil which I run in my Ford "Exploder" that has 211, 700 miles on it. Not only did the oil consumption go down but the gas milage went up. In fairness, I also have to disclaim that I also run Restore at every oil change on it.

With our previous Honda Civic Si, it started oil fouling spark plugs at about 160,000 miles when the valve guide seals started going away. I started using Restore and not only did it stop fouling the plugs but the car went a total of 253,493 miles before it died. Not bad for an engine that spun almost as fast as an S2000 (3,500 RPM's at 70 MPH in fifth gear).

I have been running 10W- 30 Mobil 1 in my S2000 since the 10,000 mile mark. I do get some oil consumption (which for a Honda seems unsettling) especially when I V-TEC (Blow by). I am hoping that Mobile 1 will allow my S to hit the quarter million mile mark.

BTW, I also find it curious that when Mobil 1 was first introduced they marketed it as going 10,000 miles between oil changes. Then Jiffy Lube started their 3,000 mile indoctronation campaign. Which was very successful. But this was largely due to the gasoline engines that had been converted to diesel due to the gas shortages back in the 70's.

I have adopted a 5,000 mile intreval on our Ford "Exploder" that now has almost 212,000 miles on it. running a diet of Valvoline Max Life and Restore. I started using Restore after about 125,000 miles. On the S and our Infiniti I am also on a 5,000 mile interval versus the recommended 7,500 mile interval from the manufacturer. But, I run Mobil 1 in both of them.
