Without looking, I believe the policy states that sponsors of this site may advertise their products and group buys of such items as they like. Again to the best of my knowledge, there is nothing to state that people sponsored by S2Ko sponsors can't speak about those items or discounts they have received through whatever relationship they have with the sponsors. I KNOW that people other than Greg have gotten their backs scratched, so why single Greg out?

One point Greg has not brought up (but I will) is that he and Giampiero were arranging his sponsorship and even shipping parts before S2KCA ever became public knowledge. Additionally, Greg didn't go to Giampiero ASKING for parts; Giampiero came to HIM because he's a well-respected member of the S2000 community and a good person to represent MG Racing because he spends a fair amount of time on the track. I can say, much as Brad can, that I pay for my own parts and that S2KDays will cost me far more out of pocket than I would ever receive in favors from any S2Ko/S2Ki/S2KCA sponsor, but the fun I had in Asheville and the new friends I made will be worth it for a long time to come. I'm not in this for favors and politicking; I'm here because I enjoy the group. Though I am in such a position, I will not reduce myself to being a noncontributing member of this board. When I have an opinion, I will speak it. I consider my role here and my role in the S2KCA to be distinctly different hats to wear.

Perhaps, Bieg, if you were an over-the-top, contributing member of this society rather than a solid detriment to it, you would be offered the same kinds of opportunities. At this point, all I can see coming is one large, community-wide kick in the ass for you to leave...

And on that note:

Performance:
Mobil One
X brace (ordered, waiting)
a solid coat of dirt

Exterior:
Finish First
rock chips galore (less paint, more aerodynamic!)
cracked windshield (looks cool, gets guys to ask!)
S2KDays commemorative dent
S2KCA magnet
"Warning: I may be hazardous to your ego" magnet
"We got your Zoom Zoom" magnet
a solid coat of dirt

Interior:
Cow Seat covers
Rick's console cover
Rick's knob sock
JL Audio separates
Alpine V12 amp
Alpine CD changer
8" Bazooka tube (temporary)
Valentine One
an even more solid coat of dirt

hey i like beig. he doesn't post much, but when he does it's enough to get some blood stirred up!! noone here is overlord of the universe, and the closest person to that position is cthree, not greg or beig. if beig thinks greg is part of a conspiracy theory, much more entertainment for me! if greg throws a hissy fit because beig is expressing his NY flair, even more entertainment!!

now i have nothing against anyone here, but when you start a post with a phrase including "you know who you are" you HAVE to expect a response from that person!!!! for gosh's sake man, take huyto's advice and let's all double up on our chill pills for today!!!

oooh, this was my 666th post lol

Two best things about this board in my mind,

1. The feeling of community which leads to more pride in ownership, care and use of the car.
2. Finding out about products available for the car and getting an objective review from someone who has or had it on their car so I can figure out if I want to pony up my hard earned cash for the item.

This thread is what #2 is all about - and actually due to some of the posts tears down #1, which is a shame. As far as #2 is concerned, regardless of who has what on their cars, how it got there or if they paid for it or not I think we are all adult enough (I would hope) to make our own rational decisions. You're going to form opinions about people based on how and what they post here - in addition to meeting them through events like S2K days and other events. If Greg is in fact advertising via this post (which I don't believe to be true - he's just a geek with too much time and $$ to spend on mods for his car [yes I'm jealous!!]) then so be it - put on the mental filter and ignore it. If, however, you see something you may be interested in buying and Greg (or anyone else posting mods here) has proven through thier posts that you can expect an honest answer/review of the item then that's what this is all about. You get a review and can make a decision. If you don't necessarily have enough info to trust a person enough maybe the fact that EVERYONE who posts has the mod (i.e. Rick's consol cover or something like that) is enough help in making your decision.

Either way - grow the fvck up with the derogatory BS posts - because it really spoils the #1 thing I like about this place.

I like Sondra's posts and have appreciated her contributions to this board, but I must take exception to her comment about Bieg. Sondra wrote, "Perhaps, Bieg, if you were an over-the-top, contributing member of this society rather than a solid detriment to it, you would be offered the same kinds of opportunities. At this point, all I can see coming is one large, community-wide kick in the ass for you to leave..."

I find that offensive and threatening, especially from a moderator.

I like Bieg's posts. He is a no BS straight talking member of this community. Bieg is well respected by many as Sondra points out Greg is well respected. As to both Bieg and Greg they are respected by some but clearly not by all. That's just fine. I don't like to see moderators lining up in lock step with each other and threatening to ban members who don't agree with them. Arbiters of negativity is not my understanding of the job of moderators. Some folks just can't handle the New York style - straight from the hip and no minced words. Personally, I like it. That doesn't mean you have to, but really folks, threatening to "kick" a member "in the ass" and off the board is really over the top.

Does anyone doubt that Bieg is an S2000 supporter? If you do doubt it, go check out the Road & Track forum and see who has stuck up for the S2000 among a sea of detractors. Bieg has done so with the same no nonsense cut through the BS style as has earned him both friends and enemies on our own board.

I personally can tolerate the arguments, discussions and different points of view, but I don't like threats to ban those who don't agree with the moderators.

Cool it!

I didn't threaten anyone; I am merely summarizing sentiment. I have no doubt that Bieg has his supporters, but his nasty remarks and consistent cutdowns of other members here are legendary to the point that when there are meets around the country, if the topic of naysayers about modification come up, his is nearly always the first name I hear. Note, I said, HEAR, not say. I have NO recollection of ever reading anything positive from Bieg.

My best friend from college is from Long Island, as well as several other friends. While they are honest, much as I am, TACT is not something they are unfamiliar with. Call it tactless or without regard to other people, but not New York style, because to do so does a disservice to many New Yorkers who have class, dignity, and... style. I met many New Yorkers while I was at S2KDays, and never once did I hear the kind of vitriolic spew from them that I hear from Bieg.

Again, I am the moderator of S2KDays and nothing else. I can't ban anyone; I can merely suggest it just as any other member of this board can and my request is given the same weight as anyone else's. That said, I'm not suggesting that Bieg be banned or kicked off, I was merely saying that his attitude sucks and I don't like reading anything by him. Unfortunately, I don't have the option of choosing not to read them, since they are attacks on S2KCA of late...

2X6, I'm a native Texan, we shoot from the hip (literally, actually) and I call a spade a spade just like any other straight talking human being. That doesn't, however, give me the OK to be rude and insulting. Sure I have my moments when I am provoked as you have provoked me on numerous occasions and the latest volley of ridiculousness with Bieg.

People seem to think that being a moderator is something of a position of power...yes, I'm an omnipotent and omnipresent, watch out! It's a message forum, for crying out loud! You and others act as though it is something of a holy grail. It's a place to hang out, talk, not talk, who cares? Why are some people so uptight?

If you have such criticisms of my moderatorship, petition C3 to take it away from me and you become one yourself. Go ahead and petition to have me banned...I, quite frankly, don't care what you do, what you think or why you think what you think. And that goes for all people who have generally negative and sour attitudes. If you (meaning, generally) think I'm imperfect, then you are absolutely correct. You have thrown rocks at me, at Jay and lots of others for moving your beloved posts to the forum that they should have been in in the first place.

I started this thread because I'm proud of my car...I wasn't trying "advertise" MG's products, though, ironically, through Mr. Biegler's actions, that is EXACTLY what happened, which I find rather amusing. I have decided to clarify ONCE AGAIN the nature of the relationship that I have with MG Racing. It's not rocket science and if you or anyone else doesn't understand it after the post that is soon to be made by me, I suggest that you (meaning, generally) take a reading course to understand the English language. It's not hard to get...in fact, it's so simple that I can't believe that I have explain it AGAIN.

You and I, meaning, 2X6 have had our run-ins and most of the time I ignore your posts because I don't care for your negative attitude, but when you jump in the ring with me, I'm going to defend myself...moderator or not. I'm not going to sit back and take idle criticism at the hands of a jealous person (meaning, generally) when they just don't have all the facts. Sure my language is colorful at times, blame my mom, she always encouraged me to write creatively.

This thread was started so that we could share what modifications we have all done to our cars. Nothing more, nothing less. This giant conspiracy theory that some have painted around me is nothing short of hilarious...I can't imagine that anyone who visits this board knows (especially after Bieg's recent volley of Scud Missles at me) doesn't know that my Scarlet is sponsored by MG Racing. Yes, folks, it's true, despite the fact that in my very own signature (see below) and in spite of all the efforts that I have undertaken to conceal the fact, Scarlet is sponsored...it's been hiding all this time...in addition to the threads that I have posted about said sponsorship. I've been outed...oh my God, the humanity.

Now, go and relax...please, for the benefit of us all, I plan to do the same.

Over and out...

Thanks Sondra. Members clearly have strong feelings about their cars, their modifications and each other. Whatever folks at get togethers have to say about other members, I'm sure that when they actually meet they're glad to meet each other in person. If Greg came to a Southern California meet, he'd be treated well by all, I'm sure. That doesn't mean that we're not going to smack each other around a bit on the board when we disagree.

So, as for me, Bieg keep it coming and keep 'em honest!

We all get that Greg, the part you don't seem to understand is that some of us (and I have plenty of people supporting my side via PMs) don't appreciate you shilling for MG and whoever else in the posts in Car Talk.

Why doesn't Cthree create a section for the factory shills to advertise and inform away from the car talk section?

Sondra I don't expect you to support my view because it might hurt your interests. You are biased also.

When you speak of the S2000 community are you speaking for the owners (which I and many other like minded individuals are of) or the Vendors? There are a lot of people making money with the advertising potential of these forums and woe is the person who gets in the way of that.

As for insults. I have not personally attacked anyone. I point out that Greg (and others) have a bias and an interest in pushing product on these boards. I point out that the people who run these boards derive revenue from the sponsors. I point out that with this money the board has changed to allow advertising threads where once they were frowned on as spam.

Now you may not like people pointing that out but it does not make it untrue. It is also not a personal attack like you "moderators" seem to be willing to hurl at me all the time.

As for me not contributing towards this "community" (sales demographic is more like it) I am the 3rd registered member of the S2K Fans site and have been posting on all the S2000 boards even prior to that date. Frankly I don't give a damn if you like my posts or not, I don't attack people only ideas and that used to be legal here. Apparently anyone who threatens the revenue generating machine is unwelcome lately.

Many of you seem to have sold out. Pity.

I realize that I contributed to this, but I am asking everyone to stop.

Bieg, in spite of what I've said previously, I have nothing against you personally, just the manner in which you post and some of the things you choose to express. (As Scot can tell you, I can diasgree with your posts, 100%, and still like you as a person). As I've seen a few of your posts to Road and Track, I do believe that you have the knowledge to contribute here on S2000 online and ask that you use that knowledge to do so! I apologize for attacking you and I will be more mindful in the future to not do that, but help me out by not attacking other people too. Greg can and is within his rights to list what's on his car without putting in a plug for MG or anyone else, but by your bringing up his sponsorship, he was given exposure that he didn't ask for about that sponsor. Bieg, we all know you are an opponent of modifications, so could you please avoid the negativity on modification threads? Let's try to see it that way and move on, please?

2x6, I'm sorry if I appeared to be intimidating anyone, I was just fed up. Again, a lesson learned on my part.

Can't we all just get along and get back to talking about mods?
