modify s2000 mpg
I know that this is a messed up question. Just what type of mods to the engine to boost hp or torque will keep the MPG average the same or close? I like the stook the way it is but I am starting to miss my Trans Am bad! I need that torque and power! This is my first 4 cylinder btw. It is just a weird feeling for me at the moment. Here is my list of cars that I have had. First car at the top to the latest or current at the bottom.
1971 Cuda V8 1989 to present
1977 Corvette V8 1991 to 1992
1987 Mustang LX V8 1992 to 1993
1993 Mustang Cobra V8 1993 to 1996
1996 Trans Am WS6 V8 1996 to 2001
2001 S2000 V4 2001 to present
You can see what I have grew up with! Takes a man with balls to switch from Domestic to Import from V8 to V4.
So, whaddya think would be the best place to start?

From what I've read, I don't think there's an easy cure for your "sickness"
. There's only so much you can squeeze from a 2.0 liter I4. Bolt on modifications like headers and exhaust give small increases in midrange, but you won't gain much power without going to a supercharger. Even that won't give you much gain in the bottom end, and it will reduce mileage. Your desire of not reducing mileage is an interesting goal from someone with your car history. I can't imagine that any of your previous cars would have returned much in the way of fuel efficiency.
I have an unrelated question - what are your impressions of driving the S2000, having had a lot of experience with USA muscle?
