Monthly/annual cost of running your S2000?

varies on person and what company they use.
As far as insurance goes, it does vary... Especially, if you have more than one car under policy. Usually, you get a discount if there are more than one car. Depending what insurance you have can also vary as well as moving violations. I'm 26, AIG is my insurance, I have 2 cars in my policy, one full coverage and the other liability, $650 total for six months. Thats for my 02 s2000 and 94 prelude. Good luck in your search.
Oh yea, the most expensive thing is probably going to be tires and mostly likely mods. Its hard not to mod anything to the S.

The big money comes in when the mod bug bites you

The most money your gonna spend on your car is if you start to mod it.
Ive had the S for 6 months and ive already spent 3900 on mods for the car. Thats not counting the paintjob im going to get
I get about 8000-9000miles out of rear tires and have gotten over 20,000 from the fronts
.
Mods can be expensive unless you go the cheap route (buying used instead of new, Rotas instead of volks, Seibon and VIS instead of Mugen and J's Racing, etc.)
Clutches are expensive, but the rest is not much more than any other car.
Good luck!

AP1 16" tires are $500-$600 every 12-18 months.
Do my own oil changes about 2-3 times /year for about $16 each time
Regular fluid changes per the owners manual, same as most other cars.
The S2000 really is an economical sports car.

new for $625/mo.
insurance $150/mo. (25, married, no accidents, 3 or more citations)
gas $100-200/mo. depending on how much i drive; 22mpg average, mostly city
maintainence $0 (included in some package i paid too much for when i got it)
before i was married, insurance was a hair under $200/month, so the most it ever costs me ($175 gas) is ~$1000/month, all in all.
havent bought tires yet as sets, but i did have to get one due to a piece of aluminum that punched into my sidewall. $200 road hazard. i guess it could have been worse.

Everyone here seems to forget the biggest cost: DEPRECIATION. I figured it would be about $3k a year for a newer car in addition to the $3-4k drive off penalty if you buy new.
You can't compare monthly payments...they'll be different for everyone due to varying credit and loan amounts. You'll have to figure out what financing costs you on your own. I paid cash, so I'm not losing money to interest. YMMV.
Regular maintenance is low, but tires arn't cheap. Figure on new shoes every 15k miles if you stick with the nice soft compund tires.
Gas is gas. Figure 20mpg.
Insurance is going to be high on a 2dr sports car. Compare my 88 civic's rates ($400/yr) to an 06 S2k ($1600/yr).
In summary, my S costs me probably $4000+/yr more than my beater civic to own. It's probably higher, as I didn't really consider the interest I could earn if I didn't have $25k tied up in a car.
