Default More Differential Bad News...

My dealership called me today after recieving all of the differential parts that I ordered (Kaaz LSD, Honda housing w/ comptech bearing caps). Evidently every other piece of the differential has to be replaced as well. They were not sure if these would come as part of the Kaaz/Housing or not.

He estimated the cost of these parts being $1,600! I'm going to have to sell the supercharger just to fix the damage that it caused (not really, but just about). The list:

FLANGE, COMPANION___________40440
SHAFT ASSY., OUTPUT___________40443
SCREW, ADJUST________________41131

Is there any good news? I might end up upgrading my final gear while I'm replacing it

This totally sucks, I'm totally pissed.

So you can't install the parts left over from your last diff. because they are broken...or do you just have to use new parts just because?

That's $1,600 + $850 (Kaaz LSD) + $880 (Housing + Bearing Caps) + $350 (Axle). You do the math, this sucks so bad.

sorry to hear about that Wes...if you did have to sell the supercharger, how much do you think you could get for it?

Just got a quote from Trevor from http://www.HandAaccessories.com for just under $1,200. Time to research final gears.

It looks like there is another Diff case added in the parts list from the dealer so subtract that out. Since you are given the chance you should probably change you final gears. Aftermarket may even cost a little less than the Honda gears. You may be better off looking for a wrecked S2000. Buying the rearend and swaping in your new diff, etc.

Just to give you a little perspective, if you ding the left bank cat-converter on a M5 on an improperly installed water service cover, it'll set you back $3,300 I'd much rather have a super strong diff for that kind of money

Turns out it's the "back" part of the casing (dealerships words).
