Sorry to hear about the added cost. ....And I just got a quote on the S/C + Install a few minutes ago.

What will I be getting myself into?

I guess that this doesn't bode well for my hopes of buying a supercharger for my stook.

Hey wes,

Have you thought about calling up yards to just get the rear diff and get parts off of that?

Hey Wes,

Doesn't Dave have an extra s2k (flooded and hopefully written off!!!). Hmm... maybe he would be willing to work a deal for the parts, well probably just the housing (im sure the bearing's are shot since it was flooded). Just a thought.

Will you be going to the Autocross on Sat night? We could enter a double driver, just be nice on the diff!!!!

Maybe you should invest in some tools and a shop manual and learn how to do it yourself. Then you could buy the parts online and cut the bill in half.

or not.

Update:
I ordered all of the parts just now, Trevor @ HandAaccessories got me a really good price, saved me hundreds of dollars versus the dealer's price.

The diff install is expected to take 10 hours. The dealership said they'd give me a really good price on the hourly, I think they feel bad for me. It sounds like the final gear (stock) will have to be set by another company, in town, as the dealership does not have the tools.

As for the supercharger. I think it's great, but I can't hide the fact that the extra power, mixed with the upgraded clutch, mixed with my aggressive driving style, has been a lethal combination. Proceed at your own risk.
