more of a genral
on a personal note, i cant believe the amount of negativity and other people taking the pi** out each other for maybe asking something silly or whatever, ive paid to become a member because we all have a common interest... S2000s... and i thought the guys would be friendly like the other forums im on for valeting, but nearly every thread ive read has had so many horrible things said to each other its shocking and classed as virtual bullying not at an extensive level but still come on people, does anyone else feel this way ? it actually affects people me included, and im sure one of you are going to be dismissive and say if you don't like it then don't read the threads but that is a very very bad attitude to have as i want to meet fellow s2000 owners and get advice without being torn to shreds, or am i being weird
lol
People will always put others down because of their pride or ignorance. Other known as I'm hiding behind a key board, you can't do anything so i'll say what I want *click click click*.
I noticed it too so I mainly use this site for information. If you want a friendlier site you can join s2kca or s2k4me. You would think people in this world would know you need to to respect others but what can you do...

ill admit, ill be negative if someone is blantantly stupid because i have a pet peeve about people having and using common sense, but for the most part i try to help and i have also received a lot of help myself...case in point, a topic that has been covered 8 million times, yet someone still makes a new thread about it as oppose to searching...yes, i let them have it at that point because it really isnt that hard to find things on this forum
The only time I've been sarcastic and borderline rude was when some guy mentioned a Stage 2 clutch will give him 80% more torque in his Ap2. Then, after multiple attempts from numerous posters to educate this member, he still insists that his upgraded clutch will increase torque. There's no cure for stupidity, so might as well have some laughs out of it.
Aside from that, this forum has been pretty moderate and educational.

This is the internet, being on an internet forum means interacting with people that have the security of anonymity. This usually translates into verbal abuse and/or trolling, however the majority of S2KI always seem to impart wisdom gained through experience. Thankfully I haven't read the type of situations you're referring too, which is mostly due to the moderating staff and adult members associated with the site.
Sure, you see the occasionally jabs at people that ask questions that are absolutely absurd or unbelievably unreadable. It's similar to when you're with group of friends and a buddy blurts out something silly, comments like that are good for a laugh and done in jest with little to no ill intentions and for the most part their question still gets answered.
Tho your experience thus far has been unpleasant, remember, you're on the internet. Don't take anything too personal and you'll be fine.

I agree with Yoohoo above.
"Ask a silly question, you'll get a silly answer". The issue is that for many questions asked here, the answer is just a search away- chances are, it has been exhaustively discussed in the past on s2ki. Being 40 now, I remember questions we had in school were not just handed to us on a silver platter. We actually used a dictionary, thesaurus, or the encyclopedia. There was no internet to just hand us the answer.
Do a little work, and you'll be rewarded with more information than you ever needed. I have learned more on s2ki about our beloved s2000, than I ever thought possible. Learned about problems or things to look out for I never thought about.
Sometimes, a flame job helps build character. Use bad English, someone here will call you out. Ask a question that's been discussed many times before, someone here will call you out...and after all that, we'll answer your question. we're all friends here with a common purpose.
Welcome to the Thunderdome.

Now, THAT said, if you don't want [all kinds of] opinions on something, don't ask for them if you can't handle the response that might not agree with your own (ie: "What do you think of my new 18x11 +12 rims on 205/35/18 tires?? Dope as hell, right?").
Agree with pretty much all reply's i try my hardest to search as much as possible before posting a new thread nothing worse than answering the same question 30 times, iv prob just read all the hate threads where the question has been asked before, as i was searching for answers and read thread that just full of harshness, but there is a few good folk like got few pm's from people who dont want to reply publicly to my question because of the reasons iv said, glad am not the only one, i do take everything on board which is not great for forums,
there is a thread that someone and i just cringed as i knew he was in for some serious ripping was loads of reply with just
as they knew what was coming i did chuckle at this as he did need a to be put straight for accidentally racing
but there exceptions.Think i needed to get this off my chest
