I see this mostly with threads that forum 'elders' view as disrespectful to 818, or to the information that was provided. I've seen on numerous occasions someone as a legit question, get a short response without much detail, and when they ask for more detail they get hammered as if they 'don't believe' the info that was provided.

Then if the newbie dare take offense to this, everyone comes out of the woodwork to defend the forum elder that did the hammering. The newbie either learns to take the abuse, or find another forum. Since this is THE forum for constantly updated S2K info, they have little choice but to grow thicker skin.

Not that we couldn't all use some thicker skin on the 'net, maybe thats good for us. And these forum elders that I've seen respond like this are obviously not bad guys, they are on here giving free advice that they had to learn the hard way, and are investing their time to help us all out. So I think we all need cut them some slack.

The invaluable free info on here simply comes with the price that you have to show respect before you earn respect.

If you see behavior you think is childish or inappropriate, report it to the moderator in charge of the forum - if they don't see it and you don't report it, they can't fix it.

Just as a sidenote, from reading your (OP's) previous topics, I think a general theme is a lack of spelling, punctuation, clarity, etc with your posts coupled with a smiley face every other word.

Example:

The first response being you're not going to be doing it yourself. 90% of that post above is not necessary for the conversation and looks like a middle schooler wrote it.

You immediately get upset that someone would question your obvious mechanical knowledge, but I would too after reading that. If you want to have people take you seriously, then present yourself seriously. You're not going to do the design documents for the Sydney Opera House on a construction paper and crayons are you?

And you got additional helpful information in that thread regardless. I don't see the need for you to post a rant about people being doubtful of your skills.

I really want to say something about you being from the UK yet not knowing how to properly format your ideas. I could throw in a gab about being Scottish and well everything is bastardized up there joke. The structure of your paragraph leaves much to be desired in effective communication.

I've found this forum gives more than it takes from me. A wealth of info, but ask a question and you often get ill-informed replies or posts like yours which hurt my head to read.

The flaming, is in my eyes often required and rarely taken too seriously.

At the end of the day if you ask for peoples opinion, knowledge, or reaction you need to be prepared for both positive and negative replies. Not everyone is going to have the same taste as you or think your idea is a good one but you asked for people's input so you need to be ready for the response. Just as Rob-2 and a few others have pointed out it seems like you typed your post by smashing your face on the keyboard. Maybe you have feet for hands or something but try and clean it up. If English is not your first language say that in the post because guess what all we know is you location is in the UK where English is the main language. Anyways its the internet learn to ignore the trolls and haters but also understand when someone is giving you an honest opinion and that they aren't just hating on you.

if you have read my previous posts you may have read that i suffer from a spectrum disorder, which in my case is severe dyslexia, cant tell you how hard i try and write and spell correctly but yet am getting a ripping for it on here, i took sh*t during high school for it, id appreciate you guys not taking mick out me for if you can that'd be good, my skills are in practical, getting highers in craft in design technical drawing, art and music, also got my city in guilds for carpentry and joinery. so am pretty much thick as sh*t when it comes to reading writing spelling but my skill set is in other fields. has took me 42 mins to write this may give you a idea of how bad i am at writing, but am on new trial meds to see if that helps with my symptoms, also if you look on wash and wax iv tried to help out pretty much all of the new threads my knowledge about all thing valeting will far exceed most of the member on here this is my skill, so i do apologize for my spelling etc but i do try and get it right, this thread is not a rant just on my encounters its a heck of other iv read.

This is one of the most helpful communities there is.

If you want to see a cruddy community, head over to the mazdaspeed forums. They're a pedantic bunch. Some are helpful, but most of them are not. Also, they could only talk crap about the S2K, never mind that my S2K is far, far faster than my MS3 could ever be.

Nope. Don't feel that way at all. I haven't noticed what you're speaking of.
