Default More power after an oil change?

Had my oil changed yesterday. The car seems to be more lively. Anyone else experience this after an oil change? Maybe when I wasn't looking, they dropped in that new 2.2l engine.

I always felt the car has more power after oil changes.
But that feeling goes away after4-5 hundred miles.

After someone installs a mod they always say the vehicle feels stronger, this is the case even when the mod actually causes a loss of power. If the oil was sludge like, then yes, it would be stronger. You have some people that went to synthetic and say that VTEC doesn?t hit as hard.

But the overall result is the same. Ever notice that you can rev higher without hitting the proverbial brick wall when the motor is cold?

Others have reported no difference to how the VTEC engagement feels.

You pick up horses when you change the oil in Gran Turismo 2, so it should hold true in real life, right? J/K

Is that true that you loose power with synthetic? I'm currently using Mobil1 10w-40. I just bough a six pack of 15w-50. Should I return that and getting something a little lower in weight. If I go back to non synthetic will that be bad since I've used synthetic for the last 7,000 miles?

You don't loose any power. If it were bad to go from synthetic to dino, then it would be bad to go to synthetic from dino.

Dont use anything heavier than 10W30 (Reccomended by Honda)....the engine in the S2000 has very tight tolerances/clearances that using a thicker oil like 10W40-20W50 can reduce HP, emissions, fuel economy and even increase engine wear.

Why cant people follow whats in the manual? Is it that difficult?

Good luck
