Default More Sad News...

Hi everyone. I am a 350Z owner and fellow car enthusiast...so it is with great regret that I bring some very sad news to the S2000 community. Yesterday afternoon my good friend's little brother was fatally injured in a car accident in his S2000.

Here is the story: http://www.connpost.com/Stories/0,1413,96~...1880215,00.html

Just wanted to say, be careful out there and keep Hashee's family in your prayers. Thanks.

Sad news indeed. My heart goes out to the victim and his family.

The story says both driver and passenger were ejected, a clear sign that they were not wearing their seat belts. No one should even push the start button on this car without first buckling up.

makes me sad to hear that. i agree with rick, wearing a seat belt is the first thing a driver/passenger should do before the car even moves.

It sure seems like Teenagers and Honda S2000's are not a healthy mix.

My prayers go out to the families.

Remember guys, own a car that suits your driving abilities, and drive it to suit your driving abilities.

So sad. this is about 5 minutes from my house. The only other S I have seen around Fairfield with any regularity was red. Considering that my car has been garaged since November - I can't fathom why they were speeding in this area when the temp had been in the low teens. Recipe for disaster...

Is it not mandatory to wear a seatbelt in the US? (or in certain states, since I guess it could vary from place to place?)

It was made mandatory in the UK probably around 20 years ago. I suspect most people here put them on without even thinking about it now.

personally, i feel naked without a seat belt. I feel like I'm sliding all over the place.

That and the annoying as hell red light on the dash glaring at me.
