Speeding in super cold weather is definately a recipe for disaster as spoon already stated... There is absolutely no traction what so ever when the road is cold whether or not ice and snow is present.

My condolences to the driver, passenger and their families.

Anyone need a SC? Stories like this make me want to sell my mods.

Wow, airbourne! They must have been moving pretty quick. The picture is very scary too. I can't imagine what could have happed to them if they had been belted in. Trees and top support members poking back through the top into the cabin could have been pretty bad too.

That is indeed very sad. Don't mean to sound harsh here but at least he didn't *kill* his passenger. Hopefully he's not paralyzed or have any other permanent injuries.

Very sad indeed and my prayers go out to the families.

I can remember being 19. I sure was not mature enough, or capable, of driving this car. Dad wouldn't let me buy a Sunbeam Tiger for that reason. Thank god and I still think about that. Being a father I also would not allow my kids to own something they could not control. I'm sorry, but I would have to question somebody else's judgement here as well.

Please wear your seatbelts, and help your kids make smart decisions.

Oh man, my thoughts and prayers go out to the families of those involved.

But I must agree with some others here. Teenagers simple don't have the experience and skills needed to responsibly drive a car like the S2K. Hell when I was a Teen, I got into enough trouble in a 67hp Civic, and my buddies 90hp GTi. It's doubtfull we'd both have survived if we'd had a car like the S2K.

I hate to say this....but there is no way any TEEN should be driving an S2000.

Just my personal opinion but I know damn good and well if I had one at that age I would have probably killed myself or someone else. God knows I have no idea how I made it driving a 71 F150 with a 289 Hipo as it is. My daughter is 19 and there is no way in hell I would ever let her drive my car without me in it.

My prayers go out to the families and others who have experienced this type of situation. I'm very sorry for your loss.

Very sad indeed. Someone new to the board (recently acquired a s2k) just posted this story in the New England forum. And i guess he lives down the street from where the accident took place! Crazy...

Very sad to hear this. I have learned many times to buckle up. It has saved my life at least 2 times so far...

Later...
