Actually I just got a notice in the mail yesterday. My insurance went down to $261 a month. However, I have 3 speeding tickets, a reckless op, and a license suspension that tend to drive my insurance rates up. Also, I am only 19. In February of 08, one speeding ticket, the wreckless op, and the suspension will go off my record and my insurance will drop drastically. The reckless op situation was really out of my control. I was driving my Avalanche in the rain on a wet day. I was going 38 and I was 5 car lengths behind the car in front of me. The light turned yellow and the car in front of me accelerated to make it. I slowly hit the brakes to stop. The guy in front of me locked up his brakes at the last second. I then had to lock up mine. A 4,000+ pound truck going downhill in the rain is just not going to stop. I tapped his rear end going about 8mph. I slightly dented the chrome piece on his rear bumper. He tried to claim $2,000 worth of damage when his car was only appraised at $800. This wasn't his first accident like this, and he had been pocketing insurance money left and right. The cop cited me for unassured clear distance ahead, but the judge changed it to a reckless op. Beware of people like the guy in this story, they purposely cause an accident, get you cited for something that costs you money for 3 years, then pocket their insurance money to pay rent.

If I know most of you, like me, you wont get a sports bike because you know it's going to be the end of you.

I want to get one so bad, gsx600r but I just know I'll be a road kill within 6 months.

No matter how careful you are, you still have to worry about the soccer mom's who's on the phone yaking away while turning blindsided into your lane, when you're going buck 30.

bang.

If you are going "buck 30" on a public road with other vehicles around, you get what you deserve. Part of surviving on a bike is being a responsible rider.

ok that makes a little more sense...hot damn, full coverage for me is < $60/month. NC is really cheap for insurance though...

I've chased my S2000 lap times on my 600RR on several SoCal tracks, and I am several seconds faster in my S.
Maybe your comfort level is higher in a "cage". Therefore your lap times suffer when on 2 wheels?

I know my CBR1000rr can brake and accelerate faster than my S2000......

I love both bikes and sports cars, but after enough years and miles on the bike

I felt I had pushed my luck as far as it could go. Maybe I'm getting older, but in

the last year or two the caged drivers seem to be getting worse and more

careless than ever.

After being tailgated too many times by Paris Hilton look alikes

that are 16-17 years old driving mommy's Suburban talking on a cell phone /

text messaging and flipping through their CD collections, I have called it quits

on the bike for a while.

I agree the 4 tires of the S will go around corners faster than the bikes on the

street & roads.

Also, on long rides a long way from home the ragtop comes in handy during those

afternoon pop up T-storms. Hitting hail on a bike is no fun.

Oh yeah, the A/C & heat ain't bad either.

no bike currently and not missin' it, Lovin' the S2K,

Jeff

Cycles are GREAT. But they do not come with a lid. Or a heater. Or A/C. Snow tires on your motorcycle? Ever try to ride to the golf course with your clubs over your shoulder?

The S-2000 is great. It has a lid, and A/C, and a heater. Mine has snow tires and a hard top as well.

I guess I should call 4 wheels quits because I've lost a RSX Type S and CL Type S to this crap.

The escalade that totaled my RSX the girl flat out told me and the cop her father was a lawer and she couldn't be touched.

Last Wednesday on my home my other vtec was hit while sitting at a light. It wasn't bad at all because the turd slid into me maybe going 3-5 mph. Sad part was I dropped the bike from the shock of the hit .... and the fugger drove away in a suv without stopping.
