Mount a fire extinguisher where?
If you need a fire extinguisher, you usually need one quick. Mount it someplace where you can get it without having to open things. If you don't need the little storage net beside the passengers left leg, I think that would be a handy place. Other than that, I guess you'd have to put it in the trunk.
When I'm at a track that requires an extinguisher, I mount it under the passenger seat.
The discharge side is forward, about half sticking out, against the cross member on the floor. I use multiple very heavy duty zip-ties to mount the extinguisher quick release bracket to the seat sliders.
Hmmm. Might have to take a picture to get the idea across...

I developed a T mount out of Aluminium. Mounted both the sides of the T to the seat rail bolts. The leg of the T faces forward and the extinguisher mounts to that - making it possible for a passenger to sit there with feet to the sides of the extinguisher.
The bump in the floor is a pain in the neck (for the LHD cars) and prevents the extinguisher from being mounted transversely.
