The best way I've seen is to get a trailer hitch (Da'lan) and buy the Thule 2 bike rack that will slide into the receiver.

Very solid and no chance of hurting the paint.

Hey Silver Black,

I use a bike rack on the back of my S. Put a sock or a towel where rack contacts the top of the trunk.

The sheet metal will bend a little while the rack is on and then pop back afterward.

It is only a car enjoy it.

Thanks, I guess ?

Bending sheet metal doesn't sound good and putting a nice heavy trailer hitch to carry around all the time is worse.

Last Saturday, I saw an S2K with a bicycle rack on the trunk with a mountain bike in the parking lot of Costco in Arundel Mills area. I wanted to look at it more carefully but didn't get a chance. I wonder if the trunk lid can support the weight and brackets. It is probably best to talk to Honda dealer.

Dude, go with what Hockey says. it would be moronic to drive around all the time
with it on. im sure it takes less than 15minutes to mount/unmount once you get the hang of it.

if your going mtn biking alot you might want to get a toyota tacoma. The new tacoma packs a whopping 240hp.

If its just a weekly or monthly session than just unmount/mount when you go.

the hitch shouldn't way that much. maybe 20lbs.

You can get a rack that you brace onto the car with straps, just make sure that the car is clean right before you put the rack on, the rack is clean where it rests on the trunk lid and bumper, and that you place a clean, soft cloth between all contact points, including where the straps touch the car. Also, pay attention to where the bike may hit the car, otherwise, you'll really damage the paint.

The trailer hitch is partially removeable, so you DON"T carry around all that weight.

And I'm not just talking about the bike rack part, but also the receiver assembly. Many have done it on this site.

Check it out further.

I have a Dalan Hitch and a Hollywood 2-bike fork-mount (secure) rack. The two 26" front wheels fit in the trunk without the tool tray. The wheels can also be attached to many racks with accessory mounts if you need the trunk room. These racks can be had for under $100 and a used hitch for $150. A trunk mount rack is fine if you just need it a few times, but I would try to put most weight on the bumper, not the center of the trunk lid. If you plan on biking more, you will soon tire of mounting and dismounting a trunk rack, and not having access to your trunk.
