Mouse in the S
This lesson will go a long way when I go to store the car this winter. I live in Nebraska, so there are times in the winter where the car is unoccupied for weeks at a time. Imagine getting into your S to find that mice have made a nest out of your upholstery and wiring.
OH THE HUMANITY!
That's what I would call a bad day.

For the last several months we've been at war with squirrels. They have never touched any of our cars, but for some reason, this summer they decided that my wife's Benz was there for them to chew on. On two different occasions the car was parked out in the open, in the front yard, for a few hours, and during that exposure, squirrels gnawed through parts of the wiring harness, creating a number of problems. I can tell you that the sticky traps don't work with squirrels, but mothballs will do the trick. Hanging a small cloth bag containing a few mothballs under the hood near the area they were chewing will keep the car safe from the little demons.
What's so odd is that we have a truck that is always parked out in the open, and they've never touched the truck or any of the other cars. I've actually wondered if there might be something in the Benz wiring harness that attracts them, since it's the only car they've been interested in.
We enjoy our squirrels, so I'm glad we found a way to get them to leave the car alone; I'd have hated to have had to kill them all off.

Mice usually don't scare me, but there are times ...
A few months ago one of our cats sat down in front of my chair; when I leaned forward to see what she had in her mouth, she jumped up into my lap, and dropped the little mouse she'd just caught, right into my lap (as if to offer it to me to play with). I don't think I could have gotten out of my seat any quicker, even if it had been on fire.

I'm cruising a 2 lane highway at about 45mph and the mouse comes walking down the top of the door next to me, wind in his hair!
it would of been a kodak moment...
