Moving from Midwest to West Coast
BE CAREFUL!!!

Bro, movers suck. You are trusting a total stranger with everything you own. (And their industry is deregualted. Local cops won't help you either when you get ****ed.)
I just moved for the first time, and here are some tips I can say:
1. Go with a major name, with a good history.
2. Get refernces from the company
3. Take pictures of your stuff (and pictures of the movers)
4. They will try to upcharge you on packing supplies and carry distance. Don't let it happen.
5. Document everything and keep all documents.
6. Do not just go on the web, submit your name to a moving d-list and wait for calls. Your shit will get jacked.
Basically, if they have your stuff (at pickup & delivery), they can hold it for ransom (at pickup & delivery), and no one is going to stop them.
Good luck. Let me know if you have specific questions.
