I gained lost MPG at first cuz i loved the sound of the exhaust. But lately I been averaging more than before the exhaust, consistently.

...with the occasional redline just for the hell of it

I swear I lost 2-3 mpg by going with a hi-flow cat and hks exhaust. I don't drive any different than I used to.

Im curious to see a long term test, like average mpg for 1000 miles with a cat and stock exhaust, then 1000 miles on a test pipe and high flow exhaust. I wonder how much the numbers would differ. I mean, I only get 20-21 mpg in my s. Main reason being is that everything is huge hills here. It is crazy, cars up here get an average of about 5 mpg less than most places where the terrain is a lot less hilly. That can probally be said for any hilly area though.

Question to the OP...how big do you "think" your tank is LOL? Id have to see 31 mpg to believe it. Unless you way like 40 pounds and never use ac and inflate your tires with nitro to some ridiculous psi. 3.75 gearing, gutted for weight saving...blah blah blah
Im a pessamist this morning.

from 28 to 31.5 does sound a bit too optimistic.

Doesnt really matter how big my tank is. I calculate fuel milage same way every time. Top off tank, reset odometer, drive. Next time I get gas, I top off tank again, see how many miles I drove, and divide by gallons pumped. My last tank I pumped in 10.1 Gallons on a 317 mile trip. 317/10.1 +~31.4MPG.

I not being optimistic, just telling it how it is. If I only got 18MPG Id be posting just the same.

Tank size is 13.2Gallon IIRC. I really dont understand why you guys would think I would make up good fuel milage, doesnt make my e-penis any bigger. There are alot of guys getting same milage as me if you go check out the fuel milage threads.

i've gotten 32.5 mpg when i was driving 2 hours on highway to get to a race, with about 150 lbs of race gears. i think i could have gotten 34 mpg without the race gears and the roof up.

my car is stock except for K&N filter and single exhaust.
