It doesn't matter. When filling up, just check your mileage vs. the number of gallons you just put into your car to get the accurate MPG. If you always divide by 13.2, you're consistantly going to get low numbers. If you drove a mere 26 miles and then just topped off and wanted to know your MPG you wouldn't divide by 13.2 would you? That'd be a mesmerizing ~2 mpg.

I must admit, I've always calculated my MPG via the method you noted was improper. I'm going to try your method on my next fill up

Seriously man, you know nothing about me or how I drive.. just drop it.
You just said you drive 120MPH on your way home from work so I do know a bit about how you drive, because YOU JUST TOLD US.

As far as who you are, I could care less, you are driving at excessive speeds when you are in an altered mental state (according to you) and that presents a danger to everyone else on the road.

..and what if the road he's on is a deserted country road no one lives on? and he's "endangering" no ones life but himself?

you dont know these things and when you assume... well.. we've all heard the saying..

Noone is going to win this arguement and it isnt the point of this thread anyway, so I think we can all just stop here.

Anyway, back on track.. just ran through another tank and filled up, 329miles and 10.9 gallons, = ~30.2MPG.

I wish I could get that good of mileage. The highest I've seen was I think ~26 (two hours on the freeway)
