As you might already know, we are currently having GB on the Mugen 31mm front sway bar, so I thought if those of you that had it installed would like to share your truly thoughts on the product. Thanx in advance...

Initial reaction from limited street driving. I have not yet had the car to the track (missed my last opportunity while screwing around with the MAP sensor problem).

Much easier to wheel through tight low/moderate speed maneuvers. There is less roll in the front of the car so hard steering inputs and applications of power do not affect the rear traction near as quickly as before. When pushed hard it will still oversteer but seems easier to control. The transition from the slightest push to neutral to over steer is smoother with a more gradual change that makes it easier to adjust at the limit.

No impact on ride. Changes the

Hey nvmys2k-

Do a site search. Greg Stevens wrote an extensive review of the Mugen sway bar on my car a month or so ago.

I'm interested in ordering one, but quite frankly have been a little underwhelmed with King's group buy discounts... less than 12%.

Are the margins on Mugen stuff really that thin?

Hi,
I am considering this mod but there are a couple of things worrying me. By installing the larger Mugen anti-roll bar more stress will be applied to the front-lower ball joints while cornering (== increased front roll resistance). Will this added stress lead to premature failure of the front-lower ball joints? If these ball joints were to fail could it cause lower A-Arm separation and possible loss of control? Will this bar void the manufacturer's warranty on front suspension components like ball joints?

I don't know anything about the ball joint issue. However it's my understanding that this Mugen bar is made in the same tooling as the stock part, it's just a bit thicker. As far as I can tell it looks identical to the stock part.

My point is that unless you were to tell someone it was aftermarket (including the dealer) they would probably never realize it.

For me this is aftermarket perfection, performs better than stock and 0 rice factor.

Mikey,
Does the Mugen Bar use the stock endlinks & bushings? If not then a dealer/mechanic may be able to tell the difference. My guess is that Honda will look pretty closely before authorizing thousands of dollars in warranty work for a separated lower A-arm. I just would like to understand all the possible consequences (both neg & pos) of this mod before jumping in on the GB.
