Default Mugen brake components

King Motorsports sells Mugen front and rear rotors, Mugen brake lines, and Mugen brake pads. Of course, all of the items sell at a premium over OEM parts.

Does anyone have any experience with these parts? Has anyone (or do you know anyone who has) installed this system? If you did install these parts, what kind of improvement could be expected? Would there be a potential problem in making such a modification? Would the modification void any part of the warranty - other than the brakes?

I thought it's interesting that there isn't a Mugen caliper set. Perhaps they think the OEM setup is strong in that area.

Thanks.

Search the Racing & Competition forum for brake pads... from my experience Cobalt pads are damn good, better than Mugen pads, and probably cheaper too...

The stock braking system is suprisingly quite good. A fluid change and some new pads, and you're set.

This is right on the ball. Your brakes only need to be as strong as your tires are sticky, otherwise your sliding or in ABS.

The OEM brakes are great, add brake fluid and you can get some decent run time before they get mushy. Of course lines help with this as well. Finally pads really make a difference. I ran the Cobalt GT-sports and they were amazing the inital bite was great once they were warmed up. The only disadvantage to these was the huge amount of brake dust and the fact I de-slotted my power slot rotors in about 4 months.

If you get pads I would plan to switch them for track days. Otherwise fluid and lines are going to keep your brake pressure up very well for most applications.

I don't have experience with Mugen Brakes for the S but I do for a Civic HB. Mugen brakes are great but just remember everytime you brake, you probably end up loosing about 25 cents per slow down/brake.
