If I were to spend that kind of $$ (Mugen Civic) on a 2nd car (mines not a DD), I'd probably look at an Elise, even over a CR.

Actually my next car will be a Cayman S, but that's gonna be a little while.

MSRP for my CR was $37,695 (with A/C & Audio). That's what's listed on the honda website too.

I didn't pay any markups or dealer fees. MSRP + taxes and licensing.
Checked the invoice many times over before i accpeted. Since noone I called would budge from MSRP i went to the dealer that would cut the fee's

I can see paying MSRP for a limited production car, and if that's the best that can be done cutting fees is 2nd best.

What I'm wondering is how they can justify a $10k mark up over MSRP as 'market adjustment' and if that's what someone will have to settle on to get a Mugen Civic?

You know the thing is I really dislike the dealership to begin with and to me the above just fuels my fire, to top it off they will probably get the $40k or close to it and laugh all the way to the bank.

I ride KTM dirt bikes and like to get new ones occasionally, if I get real excited about a new model I don't hesitate to pay MSRP plus fees and quickly too. They move so fast at MSRP that dealers won't make deals on them, they tell you straight up "if you don't buy it the next guy will". The last 2 I got I had to search or wait to get them and it really didn't bother me to fork out the cash even though I could probably make a sweet deal on a Honda. I guess some things are to good to pass on

Perhaps someone with A LOT more disposable income will look at the Mugen the same way. It's hard to justify passion.........

Supply and demand. If someone is willing to pay, why not ask for it? That said, I have a hard time believing there are many people out there willing to pay $40k for a civic.
