Ok, I want to see what everyone knows about the Mugen Hardtop because all I really know is that they make a carbon fiber one as well as a fiberglass version.

1)Does it come painted? I'm thinking no, but I've heard conflicting things.

2)Does it attach the same way that the Honda top does, or does it have a more extensive install kit?

3)Does anybody know anybody else besides the guys at King who have one? If so, please post pics.

4)I know the Honda top rests on the black rubber rim and doesn't scuff the paint on the trunk deck, but the Mugen top is a little longer. Does it rest on the paint?

Any other info would be good because I think I'm going to get the fiberglass version if I can find one.

Thanks Luder,

Scott actually called me the other day and said he had some carbon fiber ones in stock, but there's no way I'm going to pay $4,999.00 for it when I can get one for $2,600.00 that's fiberglass. I don't really care about weight reduction, I just like the look so the added cost can't be justified. I wonder if he'll drop the price. I'd only feel comfortable shelling out like $3,500.00 max for the CF since I still have to paint it.

It does look a whole helluva lot better than the honda top though. No offense to Honda top owners.

Well I like the old Corvette Stingray look and the Mugen top creates that small rear window that I think is nostalgic of the Stingray and other muscle cars of that time. I guess it's the American in me trying to give this great foreign machine a little patriotic class.

Have you ever seen the Mugen top in person? Pictures don't do it justice.

The underside of the hardtop on Scott's car is unpainted CF. The rest of the interior of the car is stock.

For the amount of money that they're charging for that carbon fiber one, they need to post some extensive pics with a lot of detail. I wouldn't drop 5 large without seeing some really good pics of the inside and outside. The pics on the website are from too far away and these pics are good, but I want some closer ones to see the mounting and such.

I've heard that the window on the Mugen's hard top is not made out of glass. Is that true? I wanted to get one too until I heard that.
