Default Mugen Hardtop Question

i searched but i didnt really find the answer i was looking for

What made you guys give up the functionalty of a soft top for a hardtop?
have you ever regretted getting the hardtop?

is it easy to take it off and get going?
how long will it take to do so?

thanks

I don't have the Mugen, but I have the OEM top. I didn't really "give up" functionality of the soft top because it's still there. It takes 2 people about 2 minutes to remove the hardtop.

Personally I got it because my trips to work are very short (<10 minutes) and I don't want to lower the top for that short a time period. I also don't like the way the black top looks on my white car. I do not regret it at all.

I regret it, but i love the look of it. Im taking it off to go topless for summer. The hardtop is for when it rains. What i notice is that it gives you less blind spot and keep the cabin cooler.

Some of us like me don't like convertibles so I bought a oem Hardtop. My soft top has a couple wear spots so I decided to spend the money and get the ultimate accessory

Just got my OEM hardtop...i like the beauty and shine of the hardtop. Never really was into the ragtop esthetically, but i do enjoy having the top down. Now i can have both. However, if i had the extra money...would have gotten the mugen hardtop, it's even more beautiful than the OEM IMO.

Mugen = bigger blind spot than OEM hardtop, but about the same as the soft top.

I like the defroster in the OEM hardtop.

One thing that you may or may not know:

The hardtop goes over the soft top. You don't lose the soft top.

We have a hardtop on our AP1. In the past, I've used it in conjuction with the snow tires to turn the car from "summer trim" to winter daily. Come March, the hardtop and winter tires go into storage.

We recently added a CR (doesn't have a soft top). I thought I would really miss the soft top, but so far it hasn't been an issue.

Hope this helps.

Ever since I got mine about a year and a half, maybe two years ago, I've only taken it off about three times and that was to grease the seals. I don't really miss the convertible aspect of the car. I may take it off one of these days though for a little bit. I kinda miss hitting VTEC under some overpasses.

does the hardtop reduce in cabin noise when driving? With the softop it's hard to carry a conversion when going 70mph.

lots of convertible haters, i love having the top down (ten months a year), but the hardtop is a great winter accessory...
