I haven't seen mugen produce an aftermarket part that really made huge gains on our S. The Mugen ECU leans that car out to make more power which could shorten engine life. The intake, header and exhaust has shown to loose power more times than it has gained power.

Well, did you know that the A/F ratio on the Mugen ECU is spot on for an NA F20C? ECU swaps void warranty, because it's always a compromise between power and durability.
The header and exhaust have not shown to decrease power. The exhaust is meant to be a light weight sport exhaust system while the header, on the other hand, significantly increases the area under the power curve. It may not bump up the peak hp, but the added mid-range is quite benefical when you're on the track.

I like the way that people that have never tried the Mugen intake tell you how good or bad it is. I have tried a number of intakes and the Mugen is clearly superior. And yes, the Mugen parts cost more but generally good equipment from a leader in an industry does cost more.
As far as the knock-off part, it looks to be a pretty good deal especially if it comes with all brackets and a filter. And even buying a filter from King is OK, but fabricating the brackets is a pain, and especially slow if you don't have plans for them.
Knowing what I know now about intakes I would buy another Mugen and pay King (who does stand behind the products) full retail.
