Default Mugen Low temp thermostat

I just got one of these for my B-day along with a couple of other Mugen cosmetic goodies. I am curious if anybody has any experience with using a lower temp thermostat in the s2k. I live in Chicago and as winter is approaching, the person that gave it to me said I may not want to put it on in the Winter. Are these ok to run all year round?

How exactly do these work?

Does it just trick the ECU into thinking your car is cooler allowing it to run more timing?

Does it actually make your car run cooler by running the fans more?

What can I expect with it?

Where the hell does it go?

Cool temperatures are amazing for our cars. It was about 55 or so degrees here last night and my car felt like a monster. With my AEM CAI my car was going sideways in first with OEM bridgestones (6k on them).

thanks in advance.

The engine will run pretty much like it is now. Just make sure you don't put in too much water 70/30 mixture is good.
