Default mugen pricing wiggle room?

Question: do places like bulletproof automotive or King have wiggle room for their mugen products? What about big items like a hood or hardtop? I just can't stomach the idea of paying msrp....

They charge what they charge, pm them for a quoted price. Many of the sponsors here give a little discount for being on s2ki, but don't expect that to be the rule, and don't expect it to be anything major. If you don't like MSRP buy used, or ebay.

My request for "best price" from King Motorsports was met with silence. I've bought from them in the past and will concede their Mugen line is top notch. I've also had a couple of shipping errors on small purchases which they quickly corrected. Occasionally they will have a special like on their MF10 wheels, but that's rare.

I did just what whiteflash said, bought used since I was in no hurry for an exhaust.

These 2 items are especially not open for negotiation. You're paying a premium in the US for the retailer stock to begin with. The only way to save money is to buy from Japan direct.

Unfortunately, all the premium new baller parts are MSRP or over in fact. No discounts, period. You gotta pay to play.

Yeah it's hard to get a discount on parts like that. You are already getting their best deal that they are quoting. Best thing if you're not willing to pay for new is buy it used.

^^ You're hilarious. I purchased numerous Mugen stuff and what they quote me is what it is. Nothing more, nothing less. They didn't wiggle the price at all.

ie. Mugen hardtop, the price they quoted me AT the time was the price I paid for.

It never hurts to ask. Worse case scenario, they say no and you pay msrp.

That said, something as special as mugen...they know someone will pay msrp, so they'll probably say no.

What are you looking for? There are quite a few of us "Mugen maniacs" that can find Mugen things here and there.

I just found someone a Mugen FRP hardtop for a pretty decent price. He came up to Chicago from Mississippi to pick it up from me.
