Default my 04 topped out at 156 :(

I was coming home at about 4:30 and with no one on the highway i decided to see what it could do. 5th ended at like 128 and 6th at 156. That suck major A$$.

Anyone know what kind of gears the 04's have? And what kind of gears the 03's have?

I saw a vid of a guy doing 178mph. Any way i could put the old gears back in the 04?

All S2000s have 4.10 final drive.

Indeed, but the '04s have a shorter secondary reduction gear in the transmission. So Silver, you have two options. 1) Swap out your '04 transmission for an '00-'03. 2) Replace the 4.10 final drive with something along the lines of a Mazda 3.636 final gearset.

However, is it really all that important to you to go 178mph at 4am?

If you are going downhill...you proll can hit highspeeds such as 170mph...but I don't think any stock S2000, on flat land, is able to go up to 174?

I guess its better for acceleration to have a little less top speed and I don't think there will be many instances where I will go above 120 anyway. I was just kinda suprised thats its so low compared to the older one being so much higher.

You guys breaking the traffic laws left and right, the maximum speed limit on most Interstate Highway is no more than 80 MPH. You should never drive above speed limit at all times. Big Brothers are watching us, becarefull of what you are saying.

I think its the shortest redline because at almost the same speed my 00 was nearing the top of the 7k range but still an extra 1,000 rmps.
