Default MY 2004+ stock tires

Now that it's 2005 hopefully the owners of the 2004's can chime in here and tell how much milage they got are still getting on their tires? Compared to the S02, I would like to know if this tire will last longer... or is there a better alternative besides sticking with stock?

You might get more responses to your post in the Wheel & Tire Forum.

But, to answer your question, I like the performance of the RE050. However, my rears only made it to 9K. My fronts have plenty of tread and should make it to at least 20K.

I have 13.5 K on them and they look fine. I'm guessing all four will go at least 20K+. However, I probably don't push it as hard as others.

There have been several threads about this in the past. In them all, the RE050 responses have been pretty much in line with previous S02 responses. There's a wide range, from 9k and under to 20k+ like you see here. So basically, the same wear as the S02s.

I had my oil changed yesterday and the dealer measured the tread depth. Fronts were at 8mm and the rears were at 6mm, this with 12.5k miles on the car. The service writer said the wear bars appear at 2mm. Can anyone confirm that?

Anyway, I guess I'm doing ok all things considered.

I have S-03 on my Current SVT focus... 2800lbs, 24,000 miles
and drive the piss out of it, I dont light them up.... just short of spinning the tires
I'm on my second set... and still love the wear and handeling

The 050 stock tires are 140 treadwear.... and better is S-03 220 treadwear

Th next time I need tires.... S-03 the only way great weat and dry traction

but this car is Front wheel drive....

S-03 on nothing.....

Mine are lasting a lot longer than my S-02's did, but I do a lot more highway driving now than I did when I had my '01. I'll probably get 12,000 miles out of my RE-050's. I got about 8,000 out of my S-02's.
