Default My 2nd S2000!

hey all

i'm a newbie here, so please bear with me. the member reg. is down right now, so i'm still an 'ethusiast'.

anyway, i just put down a deposit on my 2nd s2000! i leased my first one ('01 silverstone). this time i opted to buy a sebring silver.

here are my questions:

- i haven't signed on the dotted line yet, but my dealer up here on the frozne tundra will sell me one at $32340. what kind of prices is everyone paying out there? i think i'm paying under invoice, but what's up with the ad for on '04 at $30,995?

- i want to have the radio to enable the use of my ipod. i have an itrip (fm modulator) and it only works ok. any thoughts? btw, i'm clueless about doing this myself, so it has to be an option that i can pay someone else to do!

thanks

Yeah...that quote from the dealer is a wee bit high.

MSRP = $32,800
Invoice = $29,505

The ad you see for an S2000 for $30,995 is through hardtopguy.com It is legit and they are reputable sellers.

Tell your local dealer to eat that high quote and beat the offer you have for $30,995 or you're going elsewhere.

yep. i'd work that price. you could find a much better deal than that with a little luck. seeing that you haven't signed yet, you might be able to work him a bit if he's wantin' that commission.

and def take that price from hardtopguy to show him what you should be paying. before taxes, i paid $30,250 for my new MY03 last july. it was sitting at $33,000 after everything was added.

also, make sure you go through a MANAGER. a salesman will not give you that deal.

of course, you can't just ask for the manager. if you do, the manager will back the salesman. go to autobytel.com or cars.com (or other), and say you are looking at S2000's and your best offer is 30,995. make NO reference to any previous dealings (IMPORTANT!). A sales manager will probably contact you with a $500 better offer within a day.

set the price agreement via email (it IS binding) and bring your own financing if you can. 3.9% loans are available if you have good credit. since they are unsubsidized, you don't have to give up any rebates, if there are any. if you wind up buying from the same dealer, no biggie. you have a written quote. be sure to smile at the saleman who won't work with you.

$31,000 out the door. If your financing through them then no more than $500 over invoice, and bring a calculator with you so you can keep track of all the they try and pull
