i was having the same problem as you. i was running out of gas every 2-3 days i couldn't understand what was wrong. i could smell gas fumes in my garage but i have three cars in my garage and i couldn't tell where the smell was coming from. every time i woudl take my car out to drive the smell would be gone. but while in the garagei smelled tons of gas. finally one day about 3-4 weeks after the gas problem started i came out to a garage that almost made me pass out from the fumes. i opened the doors and let everything vent. i come to find a huge puddle of gas under my car. the car was towed to honda. it ended up being a fuel line had a leak and was leaking my gas out.

During daily driving where do you keep your RPM level? I noticed with my 03 if I keep the revs between 3 and 4k I get better gas milage than if I keep it between 2 and 3k. Just a little food for thought.

fuel line leaking would definitely explain it.

Blues2000boy, why did it take you so long to discover that you had gasoline on the floor of your garage? I would assume you would've noticed leaking gasoline the first time it leaked?

I will add three things.

The gas guage is very off for me: Sometimes it will go from full to two bars down, park my car and get a sub, come out and it's full again.

Check your tire pressure. I had service done and the knuckleheads put 25psi in all my wheels.

Try better gas. I got the 7-11 crap once. My car drove like the emergency brake was on.

come to think of it...i smell a weird odor when i park my car in the garage...and thinking even more...it might be the stench of gasoline...

how can i do an inspection for a leak? I don't know where this hose line is...any tips?

Chances are it is coming from the gas cap. Most modern day cars will have a slight hint of gas smell due to the type of gas caps they have. Pop the fuel door and take a whiff right at the gas cap and you'll see what I mean.
As for any serious leak, you would have to jack up the car and inspect underneath. The fuel lines run on the left side of the car. They will be a combination of rubber and metal tubes. Leaks most likely occur at the joins between the rubber and metal tubes and can also be the rubber tubes themselves. The little black rectangular box near the back of the car is part of the fuel recovery system. Look here. It is the box with the honeycomb pattern on the end. Touch you finger at all along the fuel line system and smell. If you have a leak, you'll know.
ps. Don't light a match so you can see.
