This oughta be a great lesson in personal responsibility. If she would have immediately stopped and taken care of things it all might have turned out differently for her.

Glad you will get the damage repaired.

A friend of mine had his pickup parked on city street one day at work. When he went outside for lunch his truck was diagonally thrown across the sidewalk and wrenched into a perfect "C" shape. Bunch of people standing around looking at it shaking their heads. The guy who had plowed into the truck in an angled broadside maneuver was able to drive away in HIS car for a nearly clean HIT and run. One little detail though. There, embedded in the side of my friend's pickup truck was the front license plate of the guy who was in such a hurry to get out of there. The police found him at his house a mile away.

I love it when things work out like this!

xviper,

I just ahold of this thread and I hope u get everything u can out of her! I dont care HOW small the damage is! This one freak-show teenager was stunting in a parkinglot with my car in it (not the S, thank god)...and hit my car on the rear bumper while he was doing donuts! ....and this guy had the nerve to take off while I was comming out of the mall! Of course I hopped in the car and chased him and went so far as to get close enough to get his license plate number but the cops werent able to do anything? Oh well, I still have the bruise on the bumper there....doubt i'll have it fixed anytime soon though

If it were the S, I woudlnt be surprised if I got road rage

Don't give in!

If you are tough she will tell two friends, who will tell two friends, etc. ; then hopefully less people will try to scam out of their responsibility.

I had the same thing happen and since she had no insurance and tried to weasel out of fixing the damage, I had to sue her. It cost her so much more than if she had acted like a decent person. Sad but true.

All my time is being documented and will be charged @ $25.00/hr. All my mileage is being documented and will be charged @ $.50/km. Anything that I have to do as a result of this "incident" will be recorded and my "statement" will be presented to her and/or her insurance co.
Just got back from the body shop and Honda parts dept. So far, we're up to $470.00 and that's NOT counting my time and mileage.

That sucks...she is going to cooperate because she got busted and is going to have to pay one way or another. Take a cash settlement that includes an additional insurance deductible for the next person who might hit your car and leave. No mercy.
