My essay on the art of the S2k
I'm a student at USF and for my arts and humanities class (so boring, yet required by the honors college), the first assignment was to find something i find to be a work of art and explain why i think it to be art. A weekend later and still no good ideas on what art is...i come up with this:

What i think to be Art
The photograph captures a scene with a white Honda S2000 facing a sky that is nearing sunset. The parts that grab my attention are the use of color, as well as the subject of the photo. The car is sitting at a railroad cross sign looking almost at peace with itself as it stares into the horizon as the sun sets the clouds ablaze. Also, it is worth noting how clean the setting is. For a setting that is taken outdoors on what is assumed to be a public road, the photo somehow captures this ordinary setting and makes it appear glorious. The ground looks worn and barren. There are no trees and no other sign of life in this photo, but from the ground up, there is the beautiful, pure white color that contrasts the dirt earth, and above that is the beautifully lit sky with touches of cool and warm colors all mixed together. It is really the sunset that makes the scenery much more beautiful and almost gives me an inspirational feeling, as if the car is looking towards a brighter road ahead.
What I enjoy most in this piece of art, is the subject of the photo, which is itself a work of art. The vehicle shown here is the Honda S2000. This particular car has been modified slightly by its owner but not so drastically as to take away its original design and form. The car that is produced by Honda is a beautifully designed machine inside and out. The car, originally released almost a decade ago, still grabs attention and its attractiveness has stood to weather the times. Amazingly, Honda has not made any drastic changes in its design style, as it does to its other cars. It is as pretty now as it was when originally released. The lines and curves of the body are aesthetically pleasing, but at the same time serve functional aerodynamic purposes for driving applications. Knowing the history of the car makes me appreciate what a work of art it is. Honda is a well-known company when it comes to producing economy class cars, but what is often forgotten is it

I'm an arts and humanities instructor, so it would help me to know.
Thanks.
photo: perfect...
essay: needs a touch (and i mean minuscule) more passion, something that shows the car, like art, is a deep and profound moving of the soul.
it would be an A in my book.

sorry about the picture, i'm not sure why it doesn't work. it worked in my browser a frew times and then other times, it doesn't.
im a biomedical science major and the class isnt that bad. the teacher is a cool guy, and i enjoyed writing about the s2k
i didnt mean to come off negatively, but i guess im just not that in tune with my creative side. when we look at some drawings, i have a hard time seeing what others see in the "art." but i guess art can be anything to anyone
