Default Are my expectations to high?

Well Ive had my s2000 for about 2 months and the last time I washed the car alittle water leaked in on the passenger side. I took it in today to my local honda service center(fully detailed, which is a chore on a black car) and they water tested the window and fixed the leak(adjusted the glass and seal) I go pick the car up and it's totally ruined, they left the black car out in the sun after water testing and there are water spots all over it, also they used a paper courtisy mat and it got wet from the technicians feet and got ground into my floor mat . Im not very pleased with this I always thought service centers returned the car in the same or better condition that you left it! I guess I should have taken it to the lexus dealership LOL they deatil my friends IS 300 everytime he gets an oil change!!! Maybe my expectations are to high but I wont be going back to that dealersip for service.

I'd expect them to detail the car after that...you're not expecting too much imo.

I had a similar problem many years ago with a different brand, and they cleaned it up for me gratis.

I wouldn't let the dealer touch my car when it comes to washing it. Hell, I don't let them touch my car anyways. Yes, service from most dealers is pretty bad.

Tech's are not paid to wash and dry the car after checking for a water leak. That's why they didn't bother.

Consider yourself lucky that they didn't wash the car...the last thing you want is dirty water and a sponge/rag that has been dropped on the ground 30 times rubbing all over the paint.

I actually request that my car is never washed when I bring it into the dealerships (which will be never again after my last experience at a dealer).

As far as the car coming back in better condition than when you brought it in...read my sig

I would have to say, I have had more bad experiences than good at most Honda dealerships. It is not only the sales people that are crooked, they all are. I think a lot of the problem's I have, is that they profile me because of my age and my tattoos. I am a pretty relaxed guy and am rather passive in most situations, but I will be one of the first people to speak when someone is messing with my family, job, money and my posessions I work hard for. I get bothered when I have to defend myself and fight for what is right. I am pretty sure I would have said something. I wash my car once a week and I know how annoying something like this could be. I don't think your expectations are to high, I think they are vary reasonable. Maybe this dealership should model what that Lexus dealer is doing and maybe the will have more repeat customers.

You summed it up right there, not only is it time consuming to wash a car right, but when you live 3hrs. from home in an apartment at school w/ no hose and you have to take your wash mit, and drying towles ect. to the local do it yourselfer car wash it really sucks not to mention its 2 bucks for 3.5 minutes of use!!

i've had service techs at both a lexus dealership (used to have is300) and an acura dealership (used to have rsx-s) say to me, "come on, you don't expect your car to be detailed, do you?" when i noticed that they didn't dry my cars completely after my "complimentary" washes. It was uncanny how they used the exact phrase at two different dealerships... since then I don't expect anything at all from dealerships.

As far as I know, only certain "brand" dealer offer free car wash no matter what you brought your car in for. Usually its Lexus, Acura, Benz, BMW.....etc. Dealers like toyota, honda and since don't do that.

For one, the price on Acura and Lexus is higher than Honda and Toyota. That's why they are called luxury brand. They cater to drivers with higher income, which expect more. Why do you think Lexus put wood trim as a standard instead of an option.

Second, They also charge $40 or more for an oil change, vs Toyota and Honda which charge around $20-25.

But even with that said, I still don't think its right for dealers like Honda to screwed up your body. A little dirt is expected, but if I see a whole load of crap, I'd talk to the service manager to at least clean the car.....if you're not afraid of being scratch to hell. You have some dilemma there.
