Are my expectations to high?

I always thought service centers returned the car in the same or better condition that you left it!
I would have been MORE pissed to know that they washed my car without my permission. Considering the circumstances and the reason that you brought the car there in the first place I think you made out ok with water spots that they left you to remove or wash out.
Paper floor mats are there for a reason and even though it got detroyed a little bit from the foot traffic, it's better than the alternative of NOT having none.
I think your over reacting IMO.

My dealer is great about this. They always wash the car unless otherwise instructed. I always tell them not to.
When I got the car, I specifically told the sales guy to NOT wash the car (it wwas frickin' dirty). When I got there to pick it up it ws washed: "We at least had to knock some dirt off of it for ya". I was pretty pissed.

I'd expect the dealership to wash my car after they service it, but I do not expect them to detail it. Detail at least equates to a careful wash, dry, and wax without including things like vacuum, interior/seats wipe down and treatment, top treatment, polish plastics, clean rims and shine tires, clay bar, etc; do you really think a dealer will do this for all of the cars they service? Lexus doesn't even do this and to be honest I am amazed how good their service is.
However, I do find it reasonable for them to clean up after themselves, it's part of the Honda certification is cleanliness.
But I too do not trust dealers anymore, I'm grateful that I found someone who I can trust to work on my S2000, but when you're doing warranty work u r kinda screwed.
