Default My hood won't close when I drop it........

I just got the car 2 days ago. I was trying to close up the hood, then I followed what everybody does, drop it from one foot above the fender. The hood didn't close. Then I did it again and again..........

Then I did that most horrible thing, because I really had to get it close. I gently it presed it with both hands, at the very front end of the hood. It closed. But I really, dont wanna do that all the time, cause I know that one of these days I am gonna dent this hood.

Please Help....

Try giving it a little "toss" upward from about a foot up...works for me.

Have you tried two feet above the fender? Three? Four?

carlson,

if you do a search on "hood AND adjust" you should come up with this thread:

http://www.s2000online.com/forums/showthre...?threadid=12414

I posted the page from the Helm manual on how to make the necessary adjustment. You should be able to get it so you can drop it from 8" or so.

This should probably be a new FAQ...

Four is a bit high, but three should be fine. But to be on the safe side, do what Tedster recommends.

Either make the adjustment as described in the Helms manual or drop by a dealer and have them do it. Even my incompetent dealer was able to solve the problem in about 90 seconds.
