My new intake mod.
I think its a great Idea. Eventhough our intake's are pretty good from factory, there are still restrictions that honda has to meet and also to keep noise down. Out of every car, you can get some hp by changing your intake. And which intake do they use 90% of the time, the aluminum pipe. The good thing in our car is that we can use the factory box with just a bit of modification to be able to change out the stock intake arm to an aftermarket one. Regarding the wrap, I dont personally like it. You should see the pipe heat wrapI was talking about before.
Its called thermo-tech heat wrap. It comes silver but what I did was paint it black. Looks like its from factory and its just makes the original pipe look larger. Many times, they dont even know i but a heat wrap around it. But regarding what you are doing, I'm not sure how it would look after you put some fiberglass on it, but just another idea to save you some time. One more thing on the pipe, its a bit larger than the stock pipe so the aluminum is not hitting the pipe directly, which since there is a bit of air inbetween, helps on the intake not reaching the hottest temperatures.

This is what I did last night.
Tested before and after, lets just say it works
