uh not this shit again.. he has a 2001 which can be had now for like $12k.. plus he mentioned he alreay bought a bunch of other stuff. Get over yourself. Your car is inexpensive. Just because someone doesn't want to spend money, doesn't mean they are cheap ass.
with that. although admittedly, i'm a cheap ass. i'm gonna powder coat my calipers myself, and if i'm happy with the results, then i'm gonna do my wheels myself as well. more money for other mods FTW

I'm sorry but I also have to agree. Not everyone paid 30k for an S. I paid 13,8k for mine. These cars can be had for cheap. Do what fits your budget as long as you're happy with the results.

I just used the duplicolor wheel paint to refinish my prelude's rims but I REALLY DISLIKE the way they came out.

So I would recommend you against that. I'll take pics of it on monday for you.

Yep, they can do a lip on pc wheels, but, like Mikey said it gets way more expensive. Not only do they have to charge you for mask time, but the tape itself is a special heat tape that cost like a hundred bucks a roll. BTW - I paid 40 per wheel for mine and I think they did a great job. 2 years later and they look as good as the day they were done. If you can wait and save up to do the pc, I think you'd be happier. Or you could do the best you can with a spay bomb, then pc in a year or two. Just some thoughts.

or do it yourself. you can get a kit for ~$80, paint is usually around $9 for an 8oz. bottle. someone famous once said "buy tools, not labor." i second that motion.

Hahaha I love the arrogance in that one guys post - he actually had to put quotations around budget when describing my lifestyle, not his. Therefore I give you a -1 KeithMajkasays and you should think next time before you post a mindless, useless comment.

And to refute your "30k dollar car budget" I drive an 01 with 90k miles. I bought it almost 2 years ago with 52000 miles for 17k which is almost HALF of your "quoted price".

To everyone else, thanks for the replies. If the powdercoating is only 50 a wheel I will definitely be looking into that.

How glossy can powdercoating be? I have never seen a powdercoated wheel before I don't believe.

Oh and the whole reason I was wanting to do a cheap spray, was because I am wanting to upgrade to the AP2 v1 wheels soon.

One thing about paint...its easy to touch up. OK, another thing...its really really cheap. If you prep the wheels properly the paint will work fine.

When you price powdercoating don't forget the cost of dismounting and remounting/rebalancing the tires.
