a big THANK YOU to the people that cared for my well being... but to the others, why all this criticism? dont tell me that you didnt ONCE just feel SOOO great to have a s2000 and go into a zone that you feel that you can do anything.... well the day of my accident that is how i felt.... the consequences will me paid by me and only me.... i have learned my lesson.... i wrote that thread thinking that i would feel better discussing the horrible episode with my fellow s2000 owners and to warn others not to make a stupid mistake that i made....anyways thanks again to the people that understood my point of view...

P.S. No pics...i went to the impound yesterday to look at my car and it was sooo painful to look at that i didnt even want to take the pics

Damn, I made the same mistake before on another car (non-S2000) trying to engage through a U-turn at similar speeds. Lots of broken parts, but chassis untouched and the car was repairable to orig specs. I felt pretty invincible and had done stupid-ass maneuvers like this before. Didn't take into account the extra weight in the car which adversely affected handling.

Glad you're ok. Glad you didn't plow into anyone else either. Not worth taking someone's life and screwing up yours.

Here's a big hint that will help you with normal driving and the racetrack:

Slow in, fast out.

Try fast in on the track and you get slow out. Try that on the street, well...you already know.

Same thing happened to me. First month of owning the S, I crashed it because of showing off w/ a drift. One thing is for sure though, once you get into your first accident (you driving of course) you will always be aware of stupid a$$ mistakes and things you do. By the way, you should've just holla'd at the girl; I bet she thinks your an idiot for crashing in front of her.

I'm reminded of a saying that goes something like, "Good decisions are usually the result of experience. Unfortunately, experience is usually the result of bad decisions."

That saying reminds me of another one -

Time is a great teacher, but unfortunately it kills all its pupils.
-Hector Berlioz
Take care!

Anyone who no longer feels this should think about trading for something with 4 doors maybe
... but GEEZZZ are you guys my freakin parents? ...
LOL I think people were quick to condemn you because as S2Kguy said we all have selective memories, no-one who criticised you ever made a dubious decision, right?
but anyway you'll know better in future, no drifts on old tyres joking You'll be a more experienced driver next time you're in that situation after seeing your beautiful machine damaged like that, its just unfortunate that you had your learning experience in such a nice car.

Hope your back in an S2000 and in the land of VTEC soon

With all due respect, the tone and verbiage used in your original post does not read like the penitent words of one who has realized the gravity of his mistake.

It reads more like an old Mickey Spillane, "Mike Hammer" novel.

I looked around and saw my $400 apr wing about 30 feet away bleeding in the grass.
It impressed me as a thinly veiled attempt to obtain machismo-laden electronic high-fives for your recent excellent adventure gone wrong.

Glad your okay. Grow up before you get behind another steering wheel.
