Quit whining about the shifter.

I told you before this car will bite you in the ass. It will bite again.

Your engine's fine.

I'm not whining! Just wanted to clarify to other people how mis-shifting can occur. That's all!

Yes, my engine is fine, and I'm not gonna ever do it again. It's the guest driver who'd done it.

Trust me...Honda knows. When I mis-shifted a while ago...I bent a valve. Honda was nice enough to cover it and replace it for me. But they knew EXACTLY what happened. After bringing in my car, they called me back with in an hour telling me that 2 nights ago I had mis-shifted and over-reved my car to something like 11,000 RPM. I consider myself lucky they covered it.

There is a computer inside that records max rev points. that is how they know. And yes we are drunk monkeys most of the time.

Yep...the second I stopped at the next light...the check engine light went on and the car started to idle real rough. I think everyone has mis-shifted before but as long as you're under that 9K RPM...I think your engine is fine. If you did what I did...you'd know. Horrible loud noise that scarred the hell out of me. If you just had a sudden rev up to 8 or 9 RPM...you're fine.

You didn't pull the sword out on your cousin for that??

I'm glad to see you are showing more restraint these days.

How the hell did he get it into 1st @30mph? I have to practially fight my car into first, even at slow slow speeds.

I think the car is probably fine. From what I have heard, you either know the car is screwed (blown engine) or it is fine.

First gear SHOULD be able to handle 30 mph or a little over without over revving. That doesn't mean your engine will like the massive rev jump that occured.
