Check your oil level often!

I almost think Honda engineering has a formula like:

# of VTEC activations is directly proportional to oil consumption

Others on this board have noted the S "drinks" oil as opposed to burn or drip.

I checked my oil and it's still perfect. From what I've read and been told, they fixed the oil consumption issue for the most part on the '04+ models. My first 3,000 miles were very hard on the car (lease vehicle) hehe, and I didn't burn a drop of oil. I am now on Mobil 1 synthetic and looking forward to another round of hard running.

Gotta love having a lease vehicle that is under factory warranty the whole time.

Oh, I got the Intake from Exotic Truck for $239 shipped. Check Ebay for his listing (if it's still up). Perfect service.

Problems seem to plague the S. My car is no exception but at 30K oil consumption is minimal. ** crossing fingers ** Flogging has never felt so good well actually it has but we are not gonna go there.

Your local police department (with help from your insurance company) will eventually help cure your affection for excessive full throttle operation.

Good point. I installed a digital tach/shift light and I was playing with it. Well, I have the shift light set to go off at 7900rpm (8200 fuel cut), so I had to rev the crap out of it to get the shift light to activate. Well, second day I had it, I got a ticket for 71 in a 35 (it was an access road merging onto a highway). So, that kind of sucked.

Oh, another quick question. sdputerbum, suggested that I let the engine cool off at low rpm for a bit before shutting it off. Why is this really necessary? I heard it was critical for turbo cars to let the oil cool off the turbo, but never heard it was a big deal for NA cars.

Nope, never heard of that.

What I like to do when I park it in the garage, however, is pop the hood. If the car sits with the hood closed all the various engine bay bits get much hotter than when you're driving around, due to lack of airflow. Opening the hood lets that hot air escape. Now, I have absolutely no idea if this ever helps anything but I like doing it anyway.

I installed my comptech intake yesterday and I can't stop revving the hell out of it either.. man that's really fun.

My intake is so loud it vibrates the interior of car???? it's louder than my exhaust. does anyone have this problem. I mean it sounds great and all. But I'm just wondering if I'm not messing anything up. Is this normal that the intake will vibrate stuff around or is it my comptech intake resonating and making my whole car vibrate. This vibration is especially prominent around 5-7K rpm range....

please help, I hope I'm not messing anything up?? I hope i didn't install the comptech intake wrong? what a pain in the A** that was too.....

Thanks, Mark. Probably doesn't make much of a difference one way or another, but it certainly doesn't hurt anything to pop the hood.

My intake doesn't vibrate, it might resononate a little bit, but it's all part of the increased sound volume. I like it.

All you young'uns with your pipes (that change the sound but dont really add anything to the S2000)...

The car pretty much sounds fine as it is, dont it?
