Just wondering if there is a difference between a blinking "check engine" and a constant "check engine" light.

I believe that a "blinking" CEL indicates more "urgency". ie. pull over, turn off engine, get towed in.

If it's emission related, it should be covered up to 100,000 miles. I had the check engine light come on on my Chevy Tahoe. It was a defective EGR valve. The mileage was over 60,000 and the dealer replaced it No charge..
