Default My S2000 is 2 years old today!

Happy birthday little Honda. It's 2 years today since I picked up my shiny silver S2000 VIN 00087.

In that time I have travelled a mere 29,000km (approx 18,000 miles) but have enjoyed many a track day, fast drives through twisty/hilly countryside, scenic cruises and daily commuting nearly all with the top down.

The vehicle has performed well and reliably, has been serviced every 5000km (3,000 miles) after the initial 1,000km (600 mile) oil and filter change and has generally given me a lot less trouble than any other vehicle I have owned. It's main area of weakness has been the gearbox but overall I have been very satisfied.

Most importantly though is that the S2000 has reinvigorated me. It's combination of peaky performance and roofless motoring means that driving is now a visceral experience that involves me thoroughly in the act of driving for the sheer enjoyment of it.

My lease has another two years to run so I will be S2000ing for at least that time. I look forward with pleasure to another two years of motoring pleasure.

Good to hear that after two years, the honeymoon is still on! Mine celebrates its one-month anniversary today so I treated it to a fresh tank of 92 octane.

Congrats. Mine will be 2 years old soon also.

Did you buy the extended warranty??? You have to buy it before your car hits 2 years.

No I didn't Mark. Here in Australia you can buy it any time before the end of the 3 year warranty period. As a matter of fact you can even buy it after the warranty has expired providing they check your car out and it has no existing problems.

That's a great deal. I think here in the US, after 2 years, you can't get it anymore. I got a flyer from Honda Care with prices for the extended warranty and I think it was mentioned that I had to get it before my 2 years was up. Looks like I only hav ea little over a month to decide.
