my S2000 is horribly hurt!
That had to have occurred at over 30mph - the fact that your head was bruised alone would have indicated so.
I bet it's totalled - way more unseen damage - demand they put it in a wind tunnel to completely correct the aerodynamics - that will result in a recommendation for total for sure!

yes, if it is my choice, it will be totalled. I will be pushing for that. For a replacement cost, I will be going to the Honda dealer to get what they would sell a 2001 S2000 for (and I'll tell them their first offer is just fine!!!) and I will give that to miss DUI's insurer.
the pictures make the damage look like less than it really is. I almost cried when I looked at it today in the light. If the diff were pushed forward, the motor mounts could be damaged, too. I just don't know. Honestly, I don't even think the best body shop in the world could fix this 100%. I don't think any body shop really wants the hassle as I don't think this fits into the "easy money" category. I'm pretty sure they know that the likelihood of a do-over is likely and will up the estimate to get a totalling.
My dad thinks if I play my cards right (DUI, injury and all) I might be able to get into a 2005. Who knows.

The insurance appraiser is looking at the car now. So far, he's up to about $11,000. That doesn't count any frame work or hidden damage that may pop up. He did add in the cost of my Invidia which I thought was right. The statute here is that at 70% (I'm guessing 20K is the appraised value) they must total it. They do total at less in many cases, and I would guess mine is one of those.
