Probably was in a minor accident. As long as the car runs great you should be fine. Also, wherever it was repaired did a really good job since your independant shop didn't notice anything.

Yes, I was by no means downing Carfax. It will usually report major stuff like lemons and salvage titles. Accidents tend to be covered up by owners. Also, as someone pointed out in another thread, new paint can be better than OEM paint (especially on Hondas).

People do take off their side emblems (I did). Maybe when they put them back on to sell, they put it on backwards. Its just double sided emblem tape, there aren't any holes.

Well I might as well swap it back around.... this double-sided tape on them, is it re-usable? Or would I have to buy some new tape?

I'd rather have a 2000S than an s2000 whose emblem goes flying off down the road.

You can try reusing them but you'll probably end up getting new ones. Let us know how you make out. And I also think the car was probably de-badged and just re-badged backwards.

It may have been in a small accident or even damaged on the lot. Cars can be painted up to a certain percent without even reporting it. They get dinged and scraped on lots and possibly it had been painted and they just put the logos back on incorrectly. I wouldn't be to concerned about it.

I have seen this before on a car that hadn't been wrecked. It was with the original owner of the car. Both sides were like that. Just a factory fluke.

new paint IS better than oem paint. My repainted NFR has stood up to quite a few gravel trucks coming in the opposite direction without chips. I could hear them hit me too!

When I bought my S at the dealer, I've seen a lot of used S2000s on the lot like this. I am assuming they did work on it & messed up when remounting.
