Good decision I agree just find a cheap beater to drive to work and such, then take the S out whenever else.

Great call.

The only thing that would pry my CR from my hands would be an NA2, but even that it would have to be the right fit.

The s2000 is a dream, and a reliable car. I went the "add a DD" route and haven't been happier.

No, but you remind me of some of my friends who can never pass up a deal.

Some years ago one of them picked up a Canon Rebel XTi. Immediately after the purchase, he found a better deal for the same camera elsewhere, so he bought it from that website as well with plans to return the first camera. A day or two later, he stumbled onto a deal for a Canon 20D that he thought was too good to pass up, so he took the plunge on that too. Part of that deal though, was that he had to pick up a few accessories with the camera to get the deal. So he went, and ordered 2 color printers and the Canon 20D.

A week later in his house were 3 digital SLR cameras and 2 printers. After deciding against returning the 2 Rebel XTi's, he posted the 2 Rebels and the 2 printers on Craig's List with the hopes to sell them all and turn a profit.

Countless postings on Craig's List, an infinite number of failed email/personal negotiations, and 3 months later...the guy saved himself an additional $100 or so.

What a fncking idiot. Sometimes, the money you spend is actually paying for the personal satisfaction you get from having a given product. And every time, your time is worth more than $100 over the course of 3 months.

Glad you're back in your car and you're happy. Next time, I hope you'll really consider how much that extra few bucks is worth to you before taking a deal.

I've been through a couple and I will never let this one go. I'll just store it when not driving it and use a DD. After going through the import car list I found myself only thinking about my S I sold. So after selling my last
Project (500awhp Evo) found my BB I wanted. I think the S is like a drug and once you try it, it's all you can think about.

So I live in So Cal, and my company relocated from Lake Forest to Chino. My commute went from 8 mins to 35 mins. I was leasing my '08 Chicane S2000 since June 08, and because of the commute, my company offered to lease me an Insight. Being Vietnamese, I can't pass up a deal. I went to the dealership and turned in my S2000 for the Insight.

WORST MISTAKE, EVER.

Not that the Insight is a bad car, but if you've ever driven one, it's pretty hard to stay awake (not to mention it's pretty hard to pass a minivan).

I instantly had regrets and had numerous dreams of the S....it was like she was haunting me in return for letting her go.

After about a month and 3,600 miles later, I couldn't take it anymore. I called the dealership after seeing my S has not sold after 2 price reductions, so I offered to buy it back if they would buy back the Insight.

After 2 weeks of dealing and trying NOT to pay more for the car that I already owned, things fell into place and now i'm back into my baby.

Has anyone ever felt this way after letting go of your S?????? Am I crazy???

I too find it hard to pass up my Vietnamese tendencies too. Snagging free or cheap deals is in our blood.

I'm glad I'm not crazy! To Reckon...yea, the 2010 Insight has more body roll than a Odyssey and Auto Stop was driving me INSANE.

I just had the pay DMV tax and transfer fees at the dealership...none of their "hidden" costs. I've bought too many company cars in my career to get haggled by dumbass car salesmen who thought the S was a V6 5-spd.

I could have easily bought a used S, but I've had mine exclusively maintenanced at Corner3 and I don't trust anyone else but them.

I paid $500 more than I would have if I bought my lease out....but the dealership changed the fluids, filters, brake pads and rotors, extended 100k mile warranty....so I think all is fair.

Stay away from "the honda dealership off RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA PKWY". They don't know what they're doing.

I woke up grinning and couldn't wait to drive to work. How many non-S owners can say that???

Now that they are no longer made finding a mint, unmolested S2000 is going to get harder and harder! I'm keeping mine forever.
Yeap! This is why I recently decided not to supercharge mine even after being offered a great deal. Maybe on another S, but for now this is staying minty fresh forever!

You're not crazy at all. I'm glad you got your Chicane back. When a person really gets what the S is all about and they're lucky enough to own one..its a hard bond to break.

I bought my NFR AP2 in January of 2004, in a snowstorm. It was literally one of the first 4 AP2s to hit the Baltimore area. I had test drove a 2003 and while standing outside the dealership I saw the truck come in with a few Accords, Civics and an NFR. I had to have it. As it came off the truck, I told the salesman "Dont let anyone touch it" and gave him a deposit. 4 miles on the clock, still covered in plastic inside and out..'SOLD' placard placed on the dash.

Fast forward 7+ years and 46k miles -- I still have her. My daily beaters may change, but I couldnt ever bear to part with my S. Even if I get my 'other' dream car (Porsche 911, any flavor) my S isnt going anywhere. It's family.
