Default My S2k Vs. a curb and a granite upright monument!

Holly schit was I scared. I'm an Ops. Manager at a local cemetery, went to check out a few things out on the grounds and parked on the south side of the parking lot when I came back to the office. Well apparently I forgot to put up the parking break, /doh. I have never made a mistake like this in the 10 years I have been driving

One of our grounds crew members comes into the office and says "You're car is on the North side of the parking lot, 1/2 up a curb and the back end smoked and knocked down the tablet (upright) portion of the monument!!

When I walked out front my stomach wrenched and I'm sure I turned white enough that I was close to translucent. It rolled backwards across the P-lot. Well much to my surprise there was no damage to the rear bumper and everything still lines up. Exhaust is still on strait, no damage there either. Small scratches on the bottom of the mufflers, so small that if they where not so fresh looking I would have assumed I did some time in the past and did not know. The car still tracks strait, no odd noises and still corners like it should. I'm counting my blessings on this one. Big time. No one was in the parking lot at the time, thank god. No other cars on North side. To boot, I hit a demo monument so hopefully I'm not gonna hafta pay that bill either.

The monument has some minor chiping damage onthe bottom portion of the tablet, and a couple scratches on the base. I'm assuming that I used up all my luck on this one and am going to loose in poker tonight big time. I will gladly loose a few bucks tonight and still drive home smilling

My only concern is that the exhaust got 'pushed' towards the engine and something down the line is out of place. I however dont know what to look for. Taking any suguestions

Yup what sucks about that is I just got an alignment last week. Once I get off work here in a little, going to go hit up the large parking lot and decide if my alignment is off from there before I pay to have it checked.

sounds like you got lucky!
if the exhaust is bent slightly, but you cant see any diff or hear anything, its prob o.k.-
might be a good excuse for a new spugen dual oval!!!
agree- the dealer can put the car up on a rack and see if anything is wrong.

Hmmm, you have been very lucky in this cemetery incident. However, you must beware of possible revenge from the spirit of the deceased whose gravesite you have violated. You may wish to consult a mystic experienced in removal of curses.

Like I said, I hit one of our demo monuments and not a family one. That is one phone call I would hate to make...."Yeah, I'm an idiot. I neglected to put up my parking brake and my car slid over you're mothers grave and leveled you're monument."

Just got home after my lil drive and the car feels fine. I'm glad this did not happen next week.....I have a Veilslide full TI exhaust coming.

agree with that...
i learned that lesson with an old jeep cj that i had put the parking brake on...
was in my office and someone came in to tell me that my jeep was sitting out in the middle of the street!
the brake had somehow released and it rolled. ever since, i always put both the brake on and put the car in either first or reverse when parking!
