Default my trunk repair for almost $2000?

i recently got hit by a big suv with raised suspension and huge tires in the rear damaging my trunk. http://www.sighost.us/members/asianfinesse...ed1.6.10.05.jpg
i went to the honda dealer today to get a price quote for those two damaged parts. it came out to be about 430 for trunk lid (unpainted) and 270 for the brake light total of $757.07. just for the two parts!
and then i went to a body shop to get their price quote. about the same price for the parts, but with the paint job and blending job that requires them to remove the bumper taillights and all these other stuff, came out to a total of about 1800~2000 dollars. just for the trunk repair!
does this make sense? is that normal?? but the body shop hooked me up with a deal 1500 that includes rental car since this is my 2nd time going there.

i'd still have to discuss it with the guy that hit me, but does this make sense to u guys?

A SUV backed into my rental car and put a tiny 2-inch crease in the top of the hood. The repair estimate was over $1000. His insurance company paid up without even blinking.

since this is your 2nd time, I'd assume they are pretty good.

painting by skilled people costs more than at Maaco.

I got rear ended by an suv in my civic. The other vehicle was goin about 5-10 at impact and i was stoped. Total damage: $6,000. Trunk bumper and body panels. Frame was ok tho. So i would say that the price sounds right and i would even venture to say you should be happy thats all. The suv being raised up may have actually saved u money as it didnt hit the bumper reinforcement and just damaged the trunk. Other drivers insurance should be paying 100% AND getting you a rental for while ur car is in the shop.
